It depends which coating you choose — we install two System X options: a 5-year coating and a lifetime coating. The 5-year is the practical pick if you might sell or trade the vehicle within a few years; the lifetime coating makes sense when you plan to keep it long-term. Either way, a ceramic coating chemically bonds to the clear coat instead of sitting on top like wax, so it holds its gloss and water-beading for years rather than weeks. Ceramic coating →How ceramic works → Is ceramic coating worth it for a daily driver? For a daily driver, yes — that's where a ceramic coating earns its keep. A car you drive every day takes constant UV, road grime, bird droppings, and bug splatter, and a coating makes all of it easier to remove: dirt and water release far more readily, so routine washes take less time and less scrubbing. It also protects the paint you already paid for and holds a deep gloss between details. Because our System X coating is warranty-backed and CarFax-reportable, it adds a documented record to the vehicle's history too — useful if you ever sell. It won't make the car maintenance-free, but it makes keeping it clean much easier. Ceramic coating → Does ceramic coating replace waxing? Yes — a ceramic coating replaces waxing, and lasts far longer. Wax sits on top of the paint and wears off in weeks to a few months, so it needs constant reapplication. A ceramic coating chemically bonds to the clear coat and lasts years, giving you stronger, more durable protection and a deeper gloss without the periodic top-ups. Once your vehicle is coated you don't wax it — routine washing is all it needs to look its best, and dirt and water release more easily than they would over wax. No — a ceramic coating isn't scratch-proof or chip-proof, and it's only fair to be clear about that. It adds a hard, sacrificial layer that improves resistance to light marring and makes washing safer, but it won't stop a rock chip on the highway or a deep scratch from a key or a shopping cart. What it does do well is lock in gloss, shrug off chemicals and UV, and make contaminants far easier to rinse away. Paint correction is permanent for the defects it removes — but it can't fix everything, and we tell you which is which up front. Correction works by leveling a micro-layer of clear coat to erase swirl marks, light scratches, oxidation, water spots, and holograms; those are gone for good, unlike a polish or wax that just masks them temporarily. Deeper scratches that have gone through the clear coat can usually be improved but not always fully removed — there's only so much clear coat to work with safely. New swirls can also appear later from improper washing, so correct technique, or a ceramic coating on top, helps keep the finish swirl-free. A car wash rinses surface dirt off the outside — fast and shallow. A detail is a thorough hand clean and protect: our exterior detailing adds a hand wash, wax, wheels, wheel wells, and tire shine, while a full detail does the whole vehicle inside and out, including the interior and engine bay. You bring the vehicle to us — Xtreme Auto Detailing is a shop-based detailer, not a mobile service, so every job is done at our Blue Springs shop where we have the space, lighting, and equipment to do it right. Dropping off is simple: we're a short drive for most of the eastern Kansas City metro. And if our hours don't line up with your schedule, we offer overnight key drop-off — leave the vehicle and keys after hours the night before, or before a workday, and grab it once it's ready. A full detail is typically done the same day — in most cases you can drop the vehicle off and pick it up that day. The exact time varies with the vehicle's size and condition: a clean daily driver moves faster, while a larger or heavily soiled vehicle can take longer, and a lighter job can be shorter. If you're adding a ceramic coating, plan for extra time — coatings need cure time after they're applied, so the vehicle usually stays with us longer. That's where our overnight key drop-off helps: leave it with us and pick it up once it's fully ready, no waiting around. When you book, we'll give you a timeframe for your specific vehicle. Every service is priced by vehicle body type, so trucks and large SUVs are fully covered — full details run up to $350 for the largest bodies, and our membership Large tier is built specifically for trucks and large SUVs. For a business fleet we have a dedicated fleet detailing service: consistent, shop-based full details on any vehicles, with overnight key drop-off to keep downtime down, from $2,500 for twelve pre-paid details. We detail pontoons, speedboats, wake boats, and jet skis, plus RVs and travel trailers and motorcycles, all by hand and inside and out, on the same seven-step standard as our cars. With Blue Springs Lake and Lake Jacomo minutes away, seasonal boat work is a specialty — a spring detail to get launch-ready and an end-of-season clean-up before storage. Ceramic coating has two set starting prices: our 5-year System X coating starts at $1,000 and the lifetime coating at $1,500. The final number depends on the vehicle and the paint's condition, which we confirm after assessing it — and if the paint needs correction first, that's quoted separately. Paint correction itself is quote-based, because the price depends on the paint's condition and how many stages of correction it needs; send us a photo or request a quote and we'll price it after a look. Headlight restoration starts at $75, and it's backed by a 2-year warranty — one of the things that sets a real restoration apart from a quick polish that clouds over again in a few months. The exact price depends on the size and condition of your lenses, so send us a photo for a fast quote. The service brings hazy, yellowed, or oxidized headlights back to clear: we cut back the UV-damaged outer layer of the polycarbonate lens and reseal it, which restores light output and sharpens the whole front end. Lenses that are cracked or fogged on the inside need replacement instead — we'll check yours and tell you honestly before we start. Headlight restoration → What is the Restoration Package, and how much is it? The Restoration Package is our most complete single-visit reset, built for neglected or pre-sale vehicles. It bundles a full detail with headlight restoration, seat removal for a genuinely deep clean of the carpet and floor underneath, and a 1-stage buff & polish to cut haze and bring the paint's gloss back. It starts from $750, with the final price set by the vehicle's size and condition — send a few photos and we'll quote it. If a standard full detail won't be enough, this is the step up. Every membership is the 4-Wheel Deal: twelve full details a year — one a month — plus a protective hand wax every month, inside and out, on one vehicle, billed annually. Tiers are simply by vehicle size, not by service level: Small covers cars, coupes, and sedans; Mid-Size covers SUVs and crossovers; Large covers trucks and large SUVs.
